Pariz & Jaime Deraz: (not) a bad idea

When it comes to EDM – Electronic Dance Music – we have a style that, at least in the pre-pandemic period, was marked by unusual partnerships, and precisely because of them, we had producers and dj’s raised to the level of true rock stars. It doesn’t take an effort of memory to name, in this field, names like David Guetta and Sia, Chainsmokers with Halsey or even the late Avicii with Coldplay (among many others).

And that also seems to be the case for the American musician, dj and producer who calls himself Pariz. With heavy singles in his curriculum that dialogue with different genres, such as hip hop (hear the awesome track “Crank Dat” bellow), he hits the nail on the head when he invited pop sensation Jaime Deraz to give voice (and a beautiful face) to the recently released track “Bad Idea”.

With a custom-made synth to further highlight the power and vocal sweetness of the also young New York singer, Pariz manages to rescue all the exciting magic, sweat and tears of EDM, one of the genres most harmed by the lockdown policy, since which presupposes crowds. With a catchy chorus (“I got a bad idea”), the single comes close to other hits from the dancefloor, such as Rihanna’s early work. As you can see, joining Pariz to Jaime Deraz is far from a bad idea.
