False Advertising and the many faces of Punk-Rock
Punk-rock, post-punk, pop-punk, or simply Punk! Enjoy.
False Advertising
Rooted in Manchester’s DIY scene, False Advertising have spent years refining their own take on grungy alternative rock. With the pandemic swiftly following the release of 2019’s Brainfreeze (via Alcopop! Records), live plans stalled and momentum shifted, leading the band to regroup and quietly build a new body of work between Manchester rehearsal spaces and London’s Church Studios. Now returning with new album The Sorry Window (out 1 May 2026) and recent single Acid Rain, the band lean further into urgency and immediacy – blending cathartic, noisy riffs with infectious pop hooks and close-to-the-bone lyricism. Occupying a space between cathartic noisy riffs, seething close-to-the-bone lyrics, melodic clarity, introspective soundscapes and storytelling, False Advertising have earned acclaim from the likes of Kerrang!, NME, BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music and many others.
