The Quick & Easy Boys: the beauty of Gore

The Quick & Easy Boys: the beauty of Gore

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, comes the most pervertedly creative and heavy power trio you’ve heard of in a long time. Comprised of three stoner geniuses with brutal grind undertones, The Quick & Easy Boys are actually Sean Badders (bass vocals), Jimmy Russell (guitar vocals) and Tyrone Hendrix (drums). Still in the promotion phase of the acclaimed “Scary Things”, now the trio escalates its dark horror vibe with a clip that would make Jason blush with shame: “Demons”.

In addition to mocking (without overdoing it) religious fanatics and young involuntary celibates, “Demons” promotes a journey of references that begin with the hard-rock of the 80s and end in the generic universe of current horror films, with their masked and totally imbecile villains. And what’s best of all is that this whole bizarre performance comes to life even more with the sound of one of the most powerful and irreverent singles that I’ve heard this year.

In these extremist times, when the Church and the totalitarian idea of family are more in vogue than ever, the work of these three geniuses will probably not burst their own bubble (except to have a negative impact on the wave of conservatism). Which is a shame, because despite prejudices and stereotypes, this is a work done with care and insight by excellent musicians.

“Demons” is a humorous and not at all hypocritical mirror of what our society has become these days. Violent, fanatical, and, above all, incapable of having fun, much less with contents that invites us to exalt our own demons in the name of a more sincere and pleasurable life.

So, what did you think about “Demons” from The Quick & Easy Boys? Tell us on the comments!
