The House of Flies and their self-explanatory music
Who are The House of Flies, after all? The lack of basic information about this band seems intentional. Because if there’s one thing these mysterious guys’ music is, it’s self-explanatory. Powerful bass, hints of post-punk with a strong influence from The Cure. With one EP and one album already under their belt, “Sweet Foxhound” is the new single, which also features a vintage music video in which the band uses dog masks as a nod to the title. It’s very strange at first glance, but not so much once we press play.
If you can overcome the barrier of prejudice against what seems strange and strange to you, you’ll discover the secret of The House of Flies. A quartet that recaptures the best of rock music from the 80s, especially in the punk realm. You’ll also discover that even today, when pop is exacerbated by so many divas and artificial intelligence is rampant, there are competent musicians out there focusing on songwriting and striving to awaken in us something the music industry has long disregarded: feelings.
It’s no coincidence that in past interviews, these guys have boasted about being completely outside the industry. Woof woof.
The House of Flies are:
A Riggen – vocals, guitar
B Eckardt – guitar
O Woods – bass
N Pompou – drums
